Sun dances on a lush San Diego walkway in Balboa. I spent a good portion my twenties in San Diego, a time of carelessness, play, and growth. The playful nature of the light reflects that here. This painting was inspired by a photo taken by a good friend who still lives there, Rachel DeGeorge, and ended up being the study for a much larger painting of this same vantage point. This smaller one is looser and includes some structural components that I left out of the bigger version.
