“Bluebird” features a scene from Wyoming’s iconic ski resort, Grand Targhee in Alta, WY. As a once-avid skier myself (knee injuries have been holding me back lately, sadly), I wanted to capture the whimsical quality of a perfect bluebird day on the mountain: the way the light bounces on the snow from different angles, the hazy line of distant peaks, the contrast presented by outcroppings of evergreens against the various shades of white. The photo I referenced was captured by Fred Marmsater for 4FRNT skis, it was actually a photo of an athlete donning a pair of the skis I designed for 4FRNT’s 2021/2022 line in action that day on the slopes.
